Anthony Brooks, host of Radio Boston heard on Boston's NPR station WBUR, spoke with Richard Ortner, president of Boston Conservatory, and Roger H. Brown, president of Berklee, about the proposed merger of the two institutions. When Brooks asked why merge, Ortner stated that his students were already crossing the divide and don't see a boundary between classical and popular music. Brown said he wants to improve chances for success, including giving students access to movement and choreography to improve their performances. Both agree that coming together will make both institutions better.
