Boston Magazine: Metalhead Sisters from Mexico Want to Rock Berklee’s Summer Program

A trio of talented sisters from Monterey, Mexico, is looking to Berklee’s Summer Programs to amplify its heavy metal sound.

A trio of talented sisters from Monterey, Mexico, is looking to Berklee’s Summer Programs to amplify its heavy metal sound. Daniela, 15, drummer Paulina, 13, and bassist Alejandra, 10, compose the band, The Warning.

The girls have already created quite a sensation. Their video featuring a cover of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” has garnered more than 7.5 million views on YouTube; their GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $45,000; and in addition to Boston Magazine, they’ve earned media attention from EllenRolling StoneTIMEGuitar World, and the Huffington Post, to name a few.

"I have enjoyed getting to know Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra since connecting with them on Facebook some time ago," says Damien Bracken, Berklee's dean of admissions. "Not only are they talented, they truly appreciate the focus and dedication it takes to do this successfully. I am confident their summer at Berklee will be transformative."
