Topnotch Resort Presents Berkleefest in Stowe, Vermont
This summer, up-and-coming Berklee artists will perform free concerts at Topnotch Resort, a MetWest Terra Hospitality property, on July 26 and August 30 in Stowe, Vermont. An extension of the college's Summer in the City concert series, the event, titled Berkleefest, will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the resort's Mansfield Overlook lawn amidst the beautiful Green Mountains. The intimate summer performances will include a beer garden and a menu of casual summer fare to complement the music.
Topnotch will fund two scholarships for Vermont students to attend Berklee's Five-Week Summer Performance Program, and the resort has arranged for Berkleefest artists to teach music clinics at a local Vermont school. The Berklee students will also be eligible to win $1,000 to donate to a charity of their choice, with Topnotch awarding the prize to the band that attracts the most engagement on the Berkleefest Facebook page.
"With funding cut for arts programs in Vermont public schools, we wanted to create a way to encourage our local students. Berkleefest will not only entertain festival-goers, but the summer scholarships for Vermont musicians will help create a two-way flow of arts between Vermont and Boston," said Jordan Hollander, business development officer, MetWest Ventures.
"We are excited to be partnering with Topnotch Resort for Berkleefest," said Berklee president Roger H. Brown." In addition to showcasing the world's next chart-toppers and Grammy Award winners in a stunning setting, Berkleefest will contribute to the local community and enrich the lives of musical students."
