PODCAST: Sierra Hull '11

Listen to a tune from a Tennessee-bred bluegrass musician and alumna who's returning to Berklee for a New Year's Eve concert.

December 20, 2013

Mandolin player Sierra Hull is one of the fastest-rising young musicians in the bluegrass and country spheres. She went to Berklee from 2009 to 2011 as a Presidential Scholar, after already establishing a reputation from the age of 11 as a superior instrumentalist.

With two records out as a leader, Hull has also displayed great chops as a vocalist and songwriter, and is beginning to pile up accolades, including five nominations for International Bluegrass Music Association awards over a three-year period. She plays with her band at Berklee on New Year's Eve, in a concert that will be broadcast on WUMB-FM as a lynchpin of Boston's First Night celebration.
