Berklee is among the sponsors bringing the Advanced Audio + Applications Exchange (A3E) to Boston, September 23 - 24, 2014, at the Hynes Convention Center. A3E is an international conference, tradeshow, and social network exchange exploring new technologies that are transforming the music industry, and the creative processes of musicians, audio professionals, app developers, and the manufacturers of next-generation instruments and related applications.

“A3E’s core mission is to provide a dedicated exchange for the real creative drivers of the music and audio industry—musicians, audio pros, and audio/soundware developers. The support of Berklee College of Music will only bolster our mission,” said Paul Sitar, A3E show director. “The quality, credibility, passion and commitment of these amazing A3E sponsors, coupled with their shared vision in creating environments to educate and create the next-generation advanced audio technologies, allows A3E to be a catalyst and global focal point for the music technology industry.”

A3E features three separate conference tracks. The A3E Audio Developers Conference aims at software engineers, programmers, and architects; quality assurance personnel; and software and project managers. The A3E P2 Conference: Production + Performance is designed for musicians, engineers and producers, multimedia composers, sound designers, audio-visual mixers, songwriters, and DJs. And, the A3E R&D, Market + Business Strategies Summit is for people who are advancing and monetizing the evolving music and audio marketplaces.

Conference programs will be complemented by Mastermind Keynote presentations. A3E will also offer all attendees informative company briefings, and product workshops and training sessions presented by leaders and innovators of next-generation audio products and services.

Berklee also has a presence on the newly created A3E Advisory Board, featuring pioneers in music technology and architects of new innovations. New board member David Mash is Berklee’s senior vice president for innovation, strategy, and technology. Mash has been called the industry's leading evangelist for the marriage of music, technology, and education. Joining Mash on the board is Berklee alumnus Joe Zobkiw '90, founder of Zobcode, specializing in iOS Mac OS X apps, including the new Explores app with Dream Theater’s Jordan Rudess.
