PODCAST: Lettuce

This alumni-studded funk supergroup keeps it in the pocket.

July 13, 2012

Describing the fertile moment when the seed of funk powerhouse Lettuce was first sowed, bassist and 2000 alumnus Erick Coomes says, "I was 16 years old in a practice room with Eric Krazno, Ryan Zoidis, Adam Smirnoff '99, and Adam Deitch '98 and it all clicked.  We were all about the pocket from day one."

Lettuce has been performing together in different formations for 20 years, and has recruited heavily from Berklee, deepening the roster of talent with players like Neal Evans '08, Rashawn Ross '00, Cochemea Gastelum '94, James Casey '06, and Charles Haynes '99.

At 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 23, Lettuce is performing at the Berklee Performance Center in support of its new studio album Fly. Visit BerkleeBPC.com for details.
