Berklee's Andrea Belanger Scores Bonnaroo Gig

Belanger and her bandmates will perform at the 80,000-person festival on Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10.

After winning a performance slot at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in 2011 through Sonicbids's Road to Roo contest, guitar and songwriting student Andrea Belanger wowed festival organizers enough to be invited back to Bonnaroo for a second time—a rare feat for an up-and-coming, unsigned artist. Belanger, whose style has been described as "Wilco meets Radiohead" will perform with her new band, the Blind Woods. The group will release their debut E.P., Fight the Fall, at the festival.

The Blind Woods will perform on Saturday, June 9 at 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, June 10 at 8:00 p.m., both times on the Solar Stage.

"This year, we've prepared a bunch of new material, including Fight the Fall, and we've also pulled out some old fan favorites," said Belanger on what to expect at their 2012 Bonnaroo performances. "Our fans are very important to us —they helped pay for our new EP via PledgeMusic.com—so we're bringing stickers and download cards for the Bonnaroovians this year."

Belanger, a Fall River, Massachusetts native, received a prestigious Songwriting Achievement Scholarship from Berklee, and shared the stage with acts like the Wood Brothers and the Low Anthem. According to Belanger, she has Berklee to thank for meeting her band members. The Blind Woods are Zachary Tenorio-Miller on keys, Erik "E. Boogie" Kramer on bass, Christopher Putt and Ryan Duchene on electric guitars, and Ricky Petraglia on drums.
