It all started with a 1960s barbershop doo-wop group called the Parliaments, but after George Clinton had founded two new groups—Parliament and Funkadelic—to channel his musical energies, the music world was changed forever. Clinton makes his second trip to Berklee this month to teach, perform, and accept an honorary doctor of music degree.

"Flashlight" is one of his biggest hits and has been sampled by artists such as Tupac, Snoop Dogg, and Redman. This episode of Sounds of Berklee features Clinton's live version of the tune.
