Escuela de Música Medios, Arte y Tecnologia—the EMMAT school of music, media, art, and technology—was founded in 2006 by graduates of Berklee College of Music and the Art Institute of New England and held its first classes in 2007. Since then, EMMAT has become one of the best contemporary music schools in Colombia. The school’s mission is to educate and train its students as people of integrity and excellence in the fields of contemporary music, audio production, music business, and audio-visual arts.
EMMAT offers academic programs in contemporary music, sound and music production, contemporary composition, and music business; it also presents students with more than 50 elective courses, summer studies, and junior programs.
The school’s facilities include a recording studio, library, recital hall, ensemble rooms, and access to state-of-the-art equipment for production and visual arts courses, among others. However, the most important aspect of the EMMAT campus is its cozy, inviting nature, which makes students and teachers feel at home.
EMMAT’s teachers are highly accomplished professionals in their fields who have taught and inspired many rising talents.
