Common Data SetCommon data set image

The Common Data Set (CDS) initiative is a collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education community to develop a set of standards and definitions of data items. Berklee completes the CDS annually and is a good source for institutional data. View the 2017-18 Common Data Set.

Integrated Postsecondary Education Data SystemIPEDS Logo

The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) is a data collection program of the National Center for Education Statistics, a part of the U.S. Department of Education. All postsecondary institutions that participate in any federal financial assistance program are required to report IPEDS data. Data is collected from many areas across the college and is reported annually through the IPEDS process.

Admissions and Enrollment

Every semester, the Office of the Registrar compiles enrollment information for the college as a whole. Additional graduate enrollment student information can be found in an annual admissions report, compiled by the associate dean of enrollment and career development.

Each term, the entering cohort of Berklee students is assessed based on their overall ensemble audition ratings and their placement into various levels of core courses. The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment creates an annual report comparing the current entering class to previous years'.

Peer ComparisonPeer comparison report cover

The peer comparison reports compare Berklee to a select group of arts-focused colleges and universities. Each report focuses on admissions, enrollment, retention, graduation, faculty, endowment, and student financial aid. Data for the reports are obtained from the IPEDS surveys.
