Film Scoring and Sound Design Application for Student Filmmakers

Status message

Submissions for this form are closed.

On a limited basis, Berklee can pair student filmmakers with student composers and sound designers in our paired Practicum courses. Filmmakers with a work-in-progress in all genres — animation, live action and documentary — are invited to apply to work with a Berklee composer and/or sound designer/editor. There is no charge to apply or participate, but there are a limited number of spots available.

Practicum Student Film Collaboration Timeline, Fall 2018

Applications will be open until filled or will close on Friday, September 28 at the latest.

  • Week of October 1 (Berklee week 4): Student composers/sound designers apply to work with student filmmakers.
  • By Monday, October 15 (Berklee week 6): Composers/sound designers are “hired” by the filmmakers.
  • By Monday, October 29 (Berklee week 8): The picture's locked, the spotting session's completed, the contract's signed, and the quicktime workprint is delivered to the composer and/or the audio elements are delivered to the sound designer.
  • Friday, December 21 (Berklee finals week), or sooner if prearranged in the contract: Final music/sound is delivered to the filmmaker.
