Yosuke Soeda is a jazz pianist, composer, and arranger from Yokohama, Japan. He is currently an undergraduate student at Berklee College of Music. He started playing music at the age of four, at a local piano school. When he was 18 years old, he encountered jazz and fell in love with the beauty of improvisation. His musical influences range from bebop to contemporary jazz. Until the age of 27, he held a position in the sales division of a furniture company in Japan, but he decided to attend a Berklee audition in Japan, and was accepted to attend the college in Boston. He is currently majoring in jazz composition, studying with Greg Hopkins, Ayn Inserto, Bob Pilkington, Jackson Schultz, and Scott Free. Soeda also focuses on jazz performance, studying with Hal Crook, George Garzone, Tiger Ohkoshi, Kenny Werner, Leo Blanco, and others. Soeda is busy presenting his original compositions and arrangements with his group.
