The Checkout—Live at Berklee, a collaboration between WBGO-FM and Berklee, presents the 10-year anniversary of trumpeter Avishai Cohen's Triveni with Ben Street on bass and Johnathan Blake on drums.
For four years running, Cohen '99 has been voted a Rising Star trumpeter in the DownBeat Critics Poll. Cohen arrived as an experienced professional musician when he accepted a full scholarship to study at Berklee. In 1997, the young musician established an international reputation by placing third in the Thelonious Monk Jazz Trumpet Competition. He came of age as a jazz player as part of the fertile scene at the club Smalls in New York’s West Village. His most recent recording, Into the Silence, was produced by Manfred Eicher and released by ECM Edition of Contemporary Music.

The series brings critically acclaimed, New York–based Berklee alumni back to their alma mater for concerts in the Red Room at Cafe 939.
