Tom Oren Trio

Tom Oren won the 2018 Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz International Piano Competition, judged by Herbie Hancock. He is an honors graduate of the Israeli Conservatory of Music, studied at the renowned Rimon Jazz Institute, and attended Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship.

As a pianist, arranger, and composer, Oren has performed and recorded with several leading Israeli jazz musicians, most recently as a core member of the Eli Degibri Quartet.

Oren has performed at the Jarasum Jazz Festival in Korea, the International Jazz Day celebration in Russia, the Newport Jazz Festival, and the Red Sea Jazz Festival, among many others.

This performance will be broadcast as a part of WBGO’s The Checkout—Live at Berklee multimedia concert series. Past artists have included Joe Lovano, Ingrid Jensen, Christian Scott Atunde Adjuah, and Melissa Aldana, among others.
