Join Berklee College of Music ensembles professor Lawrence “Larry” Watson for music and an overdue discussion of the difficult issues that face our communities and affect the faculty, staff, and student experience at the college. The event is hosted by the Faculty Coalition for Music and Activism, an all-faculty group established in 2003, and Karen Wacks.

This is a particularly challenging time for many in our music community, and we extend this invitation to those who want their voices heard. There are many in our academic and creative community who are willing to listen and add our voices to support your well-being.

The coalition recognizes and identifies common microaggressions, as well as verbal, behavioral, or environmental indignities that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative slights toward women and people of color. Our focus has been to explore the role of power, inequality, privilege, and institutional racism, and their impact on teaching and learning.

We hope you will join us and feel free to express yourself.
