Virtual Event

Two Track is a music video series designed for Berklee’s YouTube and social media channels that features artists in an intimate setting with only one microphone and continuous camera takes. Each recording session will revolve around a single theme (i.e., connection, love, dreams) that can be expressed by the artist either through their track selection or through a short storytelling segment that will be recorded as part of the performance. The videos in this series will premiere at specific dates and times, but if you miss the premiere, each video will be public on the channel in continuity.

Jazz bassist Nikos Chatzitsakos performs with a few friends for this week's Two Track concert series.

About the Artist

Born in Athens, Greece, bassist, arranger, and composer Nikos Chatzitsakos is an award-winning musician as a member of Ralph Peterson’s GenNext Big Band and leader of the Nikos Chatzitsakos Tiny Big Band and Quartet. Influenced by Black American music of the 1940s to 1960s, he attempts to find new ways to honor the era, perform its music, and connect it to other idioms.

Nikos has performed alongside distinguished musicians such as Ralph Peterson, Frank Lacy, Quiana Lynell, Sarah Reich, and George Kontrafouris. Nikos also has taken the stage at venues including Dizzy's Club Coca Cola at Lincoln Center, the DC Jazz Festival, Scullers Jazz Club, the Jazzed in Siberia festival, and the Onassis Cultural Center. Nikos is a graduate of Berklee College of Music, where he studied performance and jazz composition with a full-tuition scholarship. He continued his graduate studies at the Berklee Global Jazz Institute.
