Berklee student Chelsea Southard will speak about her public art installation, Things/Time, which features "sonic images" displayed in an eight-foot by 12-foot portable storage unit located at 1140 Boylston Street through August 15, 2014.
The "art pod" is part of Southard's final thesis project for her electronic production and design (EPD) major at Berklee and was created in collaboration with Diablo Glass School. The 360-degree sonic images will capture "the ambiances and sourced sounds from the abandoned, unoccupied MBTA tunnels under Tremont Street," according to Southard, whose goal is to bring public awareness to the existence of these spaces.
Southard will give a brief presentation on the piece, and introduce a handful of individuals who were instrumental in its creation. Light refreshments will be served.
