TEGA / NiKEL / Maximo
Joseph Ewatuya, also known as TEGA, is a 22-year-old original soul music singer-songwriter from Dallas, Texas. With a sound that is a mix of jazz, R&B, and hip-hop, he is influenced by artists such as Erykah Badu, Sarah Vaughan, and a Tribe Called Quest. He also works to raise awareness for sickle cell anemia, an autoimmune disease that he lives with.
Hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina, NiKEL (also known as Nicolás Ejchenbaun) is a drummer/producer with a distinct and recognizable sound that combines instrumental hip-hop and electronic beats punctuated by a myriad of unique and personal influences. His debut EP, F5, was released earlier this year. NiKEL also has released a James Blake remix and two singles: “Focus!” and “Grrr.”
Maximo Abraham grabbed his first guitar when he was 12, following the path of rock bands such as the Beatles, Guns N’ Roses, and AC/DC. He is a student at Berklee College of Music and is focused on bringing Argentinian rock to Boston. He also is the guitarist for the band Taller Than Trees.
