Berklee's Composition Department, with assistance from the String Department, hosts violin duo String Noise.

As part of their residency at Berklee, String Noise performs a concert of newer works written for two violins by Bernhard Lang, Georg Friederich Haas, Derek Hurst, and others.

A classical, avant-punk violin duo based in New York City, married couple Conrad Harris and Pauline Kim have expanded the two-violin repertoire in more than 50 new works to include larger collaborations with electronics, projections, and dance. Their first feature album, The Book of Strange Positions (Northern Spy Records), was released in November 2015; it's a collection of original works and arrangements by Eric Lyon of punk covers by Bad Brains, Violent Femmes, Deerhoof, Radiohead, and Black Flag. Their latest EP, Covers, is now available on Northern Spy and was produced by Deerhoof drummer/composer Greg Saunier.
