Three Berklee-born groups will play Cafe 939, which welcomes the dreamy alt-rock of Self Portraits, the R&B-inflected soul of LANDS, and the electro-pop punch of Enta Tenta.
Self Portraits offers a big, modern rock sound and catchy hooks, striving to push the envelope with soaring guitars and technically difficult music that remains easily accessible to all listeners.
LANDS, comprised of eight members who all met at Berklee, performs a genre it calls "explosive soul," bringing R&B, jazz, and funk influences to shows packed with energy, spontaneity.
Enta Tenta is an electronic-pop duo combining the emotionally potent vocal stylings of Rachel Alix and the fresh beats and forward-thinking sound design of Bailey Chapman.
