Roy Ben Bashat, who has played guitar since he was 9 years old, was introduced to jazz when he studied at the Tel Aviv Conservatory in Israel in 2014. He received a full scholarship to the Summer Jazz Workshop at Berklee College of Music with Terri Lyne Carrington. Over the past two years, he has performed at the JEN Jazz conference with the Four Flutes Flight.
Currently a Berklee undergraduate student, Bashat said he hopes to be on the same list as jazz giants Oscar Peterson, Aaron Parks, Mike Moreno, and Charles Mingus.
