Following its appearance at the 2013 Tri-C JazzFest in Cleveland, Ohio, alongside jazz clarinet virtuoso Anat Cohen, the Rimon Jazz Institute Ensemble will be performing. A set of modern jazz originals and jazz renditions of Israeli classics composed, arranged, and performed by a stellar group of students from the Rimon Jazz Institute and Berklee College of Music. A versatile program that goes from swing to funk and Latin feels, with lyrical melodies and rich harmonies arranged for the nine-piece jazz ensemble comprised of Israel's brightest emerging young artists.
The ensemble's artistic director is Amikam Kimelman, it features musical director Ronen Shmueli, and special guest Tali Rubinstein on voice and recorder. Also performing are Ido Meshulam on trombone, Eitan Gofman on soprano saxophone/flute, Niv Shaked on alto saxophone, Ori Jacobson on tenor saxophone, Tal Yadin on guitar, Shay Portugaly on piano, Nadav Shapira on bass, and Yogev Gabay on drums.
