Resonar Latino is an innovative duo that is immersed in musical creation from the urban styles of Colombia, a country rich in musical traditions. In this masterclass, duo members Alejandro Ruiz and Evelyn Soto will share their Colombian musical traditions, covering four geographic regions: Andean, Pacific, Atlantic, and flat zone. They also will demonstrate the regions’ huge richness of percussion instruments, rhythms, and traditional songs.

The versatility of their performances includes exotic instruments such as the marimba de chonta (Colombian pacific marimba), congas, cajón, and Arabic darbuka, as well as minor percussion and electronic sounds accompanying voices of a deep and festive lyricism. More importantly, audience members will be able to interact with some of Resonar Latino’s Colombian traditional percussion instruments such as alegre and chonta marimba.
