Take Ella Fitzgerald's clear vocal tone, Jill Scott's spunk, and Chaka Khan's funk and you have new jazz vocalist Rajdulari Barnes. The New York-based singer, formerly of Boston, inspires an engaging listening experience for music lovers. At age 17, she was offered her first gig at Ryles Jazz Club in Cambridge, and later shared the stage with Bobby McFerrin while attending Berklee. In 2010, Barnes moved to New York City and started a solo project. In 2011, her ensemble won Best Jazz Band at the New England Urban Music Awards. Their debut release, Honeywine, has remained in Amazon’s Top 100 Most Downloaded mp3s. In 2012, Barnes was selected by Visions Beauty Distributors to write and perform the theme song for their first annual Natural Hair and Health Expo. The single, entitled “Natural,” is featured on her sophomore album, Journey Of A Woman.
