Win a pair of tickets to see Dead Horses at the Red Room at Cafe 939 on Wednesday, April 11. The Berklee Internet Radio Network (BIRN) has five pairs of tickets to give away, with one winner receiving a special grand prize that includes the bands new album, My Mother the Moon, on CD or LP. North Carolina’s Kate Rhudy opens the show.

Dead Horses was named to NPR Music’s Austin 100 playlist at South by Southwest 2018 and one of Rolling Stone’s Ten New Country Artists You Need to Know in February 2018. To enter, email your name and phone number by Monday, April 9 at 11:59 p.m. Winners will be chosen randomly.

This week, birnCORE hosts a strong schedule of live broadcasts. Actress and musician Tamara Lindeman brings her critically acclaimed band the Weather Station to the Red Room at Cafe 939 on Wednesday, April 4, with Berklee alumnus Sam Moss opening the show. Tune in live at 8:00 p.m. EDT.

On Friday, April 6, we feature live performances by Nashville, Tennessee–based songwriters Caitlyn Smith and Andrea Davidson. Smith has become one of Nashville’s most celebrated songwriters, with compositions recorded by artists such as James Bay, Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton, John Legend, and Meghan Trainor. Davidson is a pop singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who is releasing her album Shadow Painter one song at a time. Her gift of being able to play multiple instruments simultaneously will be on display during this show. Tune in live at 8:00 p.m. EDT.

The week wraps up with two great live shows. First, Rock 'N' Roll Rumble Champ Carissa Johnson stops by the BIRN studios for a live set and interview on this week’s edition of BIRN Alive! Listen live to the show Saturday, April 7 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EDT. Later that night, the Red Room at Cafe 939 presents an evening of first-class musicianship as New York City–based guitarist Matthew Stevens and Oakland, California–based drummer Justin Brown take the stage. Tune in live at 8:00 p.m. EDT.
