Qantara, which means arch in Arabic, brings to life Simon Shaheen's vision for the fusion of world jazz, Middle Eastern, western classical, and Latin American music in a way that transcends the boundaries of genre and geography.
All compositions are based on forms allowing improvisation in various styles. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own compositions for a possible performance by the ensemble.
