One of the most fascinating pianists on the international music scene today, Sara Davis Buechner is internationally known for her musical command, cosmopolitan artistry, and visionary independence. She is acclaimed for championing all sorts of rare virtuoso repertoire in her concerts, her many recordings, and for performing over 100 piano concertos. She will even be including her own composition, A New York Sketchbook, on her typically adventurous and colorful Piano Masters program. As a proud transgender woman, Buechner also appears as a speaker and performer at important LGBTQ events and has contributed interviews and articles about her own experiences to media outlets worldwide.

About the Artist
One of the leading concert pianists of our time, Sara Davis Buechner is praised worldwide as a musician of “intelligence, integrity and all-encompassing technical prowess” (New York Times). With an active repertoire of more than 100 piano concertos ranging from A (Albeníz) to Z (Zimbalist)—one of the largest of any concert pianist today—she has appeared as soloist with many of the world’s premier orchestras. Buechner’s extensive discography includes music by Bach, Brahms, Busoni, Dvořák, Mozart, Stravinsky, and Turina; Hollywood piano concertos by Bernard Herrmann and Franz Waxman; rare American music of George Gershwin, Dana Suesse, Pauline Alpert, and Joseph Lamb; and the complete piano music of Miklós Rózsa.
Buechner is a professor of piano at Temple University in Philadelphia, and previously taught at New York University and the University of British Columbia. As a proud transgender woman, Buechner also appears as a speaker and performer at important LGBTQ events, and has contributed interviews and articles about her experience to numerous media outlets worldwide.
