Artist Bio
Recognized as a thoughtful and sensitive musician with a fearless technique, Max Levinson first came to international attention as winner of the Dublin International Piano Competition. He is also a recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant and the Andrew Wolf Award. Levinson has performed as a soloist with such orchestras as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, St. Louis Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, and Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, among others, and in recital at New York’s Alice Tully Hall, London’s Wigmore Hall, the Zurich Tonhalle, and in many other cities on four continents. He is in demand as a chamber musician, and is a member of the Boston Chamber Music Society. His recordings include two solo CDs on N2K Music, as well as the complete Brahms Sonatas for violin and piano with Stefan Jackiw on Sony Classical. His recording of Leon Kirchner’s Five Pieces for Piano is featured on the collection of his complete works on Albany. Read more about Levinson here.
