Percussion Days: Marko Djordjevic: When the Soloist Does This, I Should Do...?
Marko Djordjevic
Percussion faculty Marko Djordjevic will give a clinic/performance discussing improvisation and group interaction. Djordjevic's performance credits include Matt Garrison, Lionel Loueke, Jonah Smith, Clarence Spady, the Mason Brothers, Eric Lewis, Ole Mathisen, Michael Henderson, and many others. Djordjevic also leads and writes music for his own group, Sveti.
In a chapter dedicated to him in the recently published book, The New Face Of Jazz (author Cicily Janus, Random House, Inc.), it is said that "Marko's name is quickly becoming synonymous with greatness and diversity." Modern Drummer magazine dubs him a "world class drummer" and a "true innovator." Djordjevic will be joined by star students Justin Salisbury on piano and Petar Krstajic on bass. Natal Drums, Vic Firth, Evans, and Zildjian are supporting Marko's appearance at Percussion Days 2107.
