Paulina Parga, born in Mexico in 1993, started her musical education studying cello at 9 years old. Ten years later she switched to voice as her principal instrument and started to be recognized as a songwriter, winning numerous songwriting contests, such as Festival Santa Cecilia in Queretaro, Mexico. She has attend several music workshops, such as Czech Music Camp for Youth (2012), Summer Vocal Jazz Workshop at the University of North Texas (2013) and the Five-Week Performance Program (2014) at Berklee College of Music, where she now is studying for a bachelor of music degree, thanks to a scholarship offered by the college and also by the cultural institute of her hometown. She has performed in festivals such as Festival Universitario de Jazz (2013 and 2015, Zacatecas, Mexico) and the Songwriters Showcase at the Berklee Performance Center. Her music involves Latin folk, pop, and jazz, along with the exploration of voice as an improvisational and harmonic instrument in real time.
