The Nude Party / Bong Wish
The Nude Party congealed as one unit in the southern mountain town of Boone, North Carolina, in 2013 and gained its namesake very literally. Bonded by isolation, house party debauchery, a religion based on pushing the limits of bad taste, and a precocious predisposition towards the Kinks, the Animals, and the Velvets, they have burgeoned into a rock ’n’ roll act to be reckoned with.
As the hysteria at the band’s local shows steadily increases, so does its reputation with local law enforcement, forcing them to seek employment anywhere but home. The band has been occupying itself with a string of self-booked tours and one-night stands, which have linked them up with bands such as the Growlers, the Oblivians, La Luz, Night Beats, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
Bong Wish is the moniker of Massachusetts-based artist Mariam Saleh. Drawing from British folk rock and fantasy, Bong Wish tackles far out concepts lyrically, encouraging universal love and inner peace. Its debut EP presents a patchouli-scented fantasia of pure, unsolicited rage. Mostly home-recorded, the eponymous EP sees Saleh and her mystical cohorts explore different moods, styles, and vibes across four tracks, ranging from lush string arrangements and exotic flutes to shimmering guitars and earthy percussion.
