Summer in the CityNick Sanchez
Originally from Seattle, Washington, Nick Sanchez began playing drums at age 13, playing a mix of the rock music he grew up on with the jazz music his teachers showed him. He honed his craft, and had the pleasure of working with Jeff Hamilton to become the best jazz drummer he could be. He continued his hard work, and eventually got accepted to Berklee College of Music, where he has studied with musicians such as Dave DiCenso, Terri-Lyne Carrington, Ralph Peterson, and many more.
Since attending Berklee, Sanchez has taken up the mantle of bandleader, creating his band the Nick Sanchez Prophecy. The Prophecy blends the musical stylings of the Middle East with progressive rock and modern jazz to create a truly unique and exhilarating experience. Driving rhythms with beautiful melodies and harmonies make the band's music both heartfelt and intense. Using the piano, bass, and drums with the more atypical instruments of marimba and oud, his music is unique and exciting. Sanchez intends on pushing this band onward, while also composing music for television and other media, most notably for video games.
