Enjoy an evening of music featuring repertoire from the Post-1960 Jazz Project, directed by Voice Department professor Lisa Thorson. Compositions, which include arrangements and new works by the ensemble, Berklee faculty, and students, traverse the broad landscape of jazz and improvisational music.

Thorson is a popular jazz vocalist, actress, and music educator. She has performed at jazz clubs, on radio, on stage, in film, and on television for more than 40 years. She has toured throughout the United States, Canada, and Italy as a concert artist and jazz vocal clinician, and has released six jazz recordings as a leader.

Lisa Thorson Quartet Live, released in 2014, received critical acclaim and international airplay. Critic and writer Michael Nastos hailed Resonance, her quintet’s CD, as “one of the very best musical offerings of the year, and an astonishing vocal document.”
