Join bluegrass bass legend Missy Raines as she talks about the bass, her diverse career, and success in the bluegrass world.
Considered one of the most respected, popular, and trailblazing figures in bluegrass, she is a seven-time winner of the International Bluegrass Music Association bass player of the year award. Raines is a member of Allison Krauss’s first all-female bluegrass band, and has backed Claire Lynch, Mac Wiseman, Kenny Baker, and Peter Rowan.
Raines leads an innovative and genre-bending band, the New Hip, which features a rich, jazz-tinged combination of bluegrass and Americana.
The event is hosted by Steve Bailey, chair of the Bass Department at Berklee College of Music.
