Mauricio Morales is a bass player and composer from Mexico City, Mexico. He began playing the electric bass at the age of 14. He started his professional career mainly by playing for local bands. When he was 19, his father bought him his first upright bass, and it was love at first sight. In Mexico, Morales studied under the direction of the renowned bass player Agustín Bernal and played among artists from the Mexican jazz scene.

After earning a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music, Morales arrived in Boston in the summer of 2012. There he has studied under the direction of musicians like John Patitucci, Eddie Gomez, John Lockwood, Lincoln Goines, and many others, and he has received several awards. Currently, Morales is mainly writing, playing, and recording with his colleagues around the Boston area. He has had the opportunity to perform with artists such as Rudresh Mahanthappa, Robin Eubanks, and many more. It is Morales's dream to make a living out of his music and to be capable of sharing it with his friends and the rest of the world.
