The Liberal Arts Department invites you to attend A Taste of Carnatic Music with Veena and Vocals Master Class/Clinic, presented by renowned artists from India Jayashree Aravind on veena, accompanied by Anugrah Lakshmanan on vocals, and KMS Mani on mridangam.
 
Jayashree Aravind is a rich and accomplished veena player. With her passion and technique she makes melody speak. She has a dynamic approach to performance, creating a beautiful, magical spell. She has performed and collaborated with many musicians, and composed music for dance/drama. She is a passionate teacher and has toured and performed in venues in Europe, the United States, and India.
 
Anugrah Lakshmanan, a talented young artist of Carnatic music, has performed at prestigious venues and has many accolades to his credit. He is also a Bharatanatyam dancer (South Indian classical dance) and trained in Kalaripayattu (martial art from South India), mridangam, and yoga.
 
KMS Mani is an accomplished and highly sought after and internationally acclaimed mridangam player. He has performed at prestigious venues and has accompanied several famous artists, such as Balamurali Krishna, T.N. Krishna, and Trichur Ramachandran, to name a few.
