The #BerkleeAnywhere Concert Series features Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee students performing virtually, from wherever they are in the world. We may be separated by distance, but music empowers us to unite. Wherever you are, we invite you to connect with us every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. EDT on Berklee’s IGTV and Facebook pages.

About the Artist

Louisa Byron is a multigenre violinist/violist and composer for multimedia. She is currently studying film scoring and violin performance with minors in conducting and video game scoring at Berklee College of Music. Byron is well versed in styles such as classical, folk, R&B, rock, and jazz. In 2017, she was selected as concertmaster for Berklee World Strings, directed by Grammy-winning cellist and composer Eugene Friesen, leading the ensemble in concert with Friesen’s group Trio Globo. In the fall of 2019, Byron was selected as president of the Women’s Film Initiative (WFI), an organization formed at Berklee College of Music to highlight successful women filmmakers and composers.

Performing in and writing for the Berklee Instant Strings ensemble, Byron has supported artists at the Newport Folk Festival and the FreshGrass Music Festival, playing with Brandi Carlile, Paquito D’Rivera, Kermit the Frog, and others. In 2019, her string quartet was awarded first place at the American String Teacher’s Association Competition, where she performed her original piece “Chop G” and other works. She is the recipient of the 2019 Video Game Audio Endowed Scholarship for Women; the Berklee Performance Division String Award; and the 2020 Barnes & Noble Award, presented by the Berklee Film Scoring Department.
