LATE, a New Musical by Kathleen Cahill and Michael Wartofsky
[Content warning: School shootings.]
LATE is a new musical about the emotional life of high school students on an ordinary day as they wake up and get ready to go to school. Their cell phones are an extension of their arms. Their relationships are entirely based on texts. They’re in a hurry against the clock, afraid to be late for school. We learn about their plans and worries, their friends, their secrets, their loves and hates.
It’s an ordinary day—until it isn’t. What’s the new normal when ordinary life is destroyed by a school shooting?
