Berklee Performance Center
136 Massachusetts Avenue

Featuring some of Boston’s jazz royalty, distinguished Berklee and Harvard faculty, this group performs originals and imaginative arrangements of jazz standards and traditional folk music. Band leader Laszlo Gardony has recorded 10 albums, seven of them released on the prestigious Sunnyside label, and was a First Prize winner in the Great American Jazz Piano Competition. The sextet features saxophone icon Bill Pierce (Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, soloist with Tony Williams, Freddie Hubbard, Hank Jones), saxophonist Don Braden (Wynton Marsalis, Betty Carter, Roy Haynes among many others), local favorite and saxophonist, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Stan Strickland, bassist John Lockwood (Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard and The Fringe), and drummer Yoron Israel (Ahmad Jamal, Sonny Rollins, Abbey Lincoln, and leader of his own group, High Standards). This musical collaboration is an experience not to be missed.
