In this open class, Kevin Augunas, a multi-talented producer, mixer, engineer, songwriter and musician, offers his knowledge of equipment, production, and song crafting – knowledge which has afforded him the freedom to capture the energy of a recoding with his truly detailed, delicate approach. Augunas has worked with artists such as Cold War Kids, Sinead O’Connor, Panic at the Disco, The Vandals, and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.

Starting out as a session bass player, Augunas played in different bands that would record low-budget demos around New York City, and he soon began engineering some of these sessions himself. Owner of an incredible collection of vintage recording equipment, his treasure trove of gear is anchored by his EMI TG12345 Mark IV recording console—one of two consoles specially built for Abbey Road Studios in London. The console was the first of two delivered and was initially installed in Studio 1 in November 1974. The console was used to record many famous records and film scores, one of the more notable being for the Pink Floyd film The Wall.
