A seasoned songwriter and performer, 18 year old Kate Diaz is a DIY musician who was showcased at 2014 CMJ and arrived at Berklee with five years of experience of playing 150+ solo shows in Chicago and at national festivals including Lollapalooza, Summerfest, Midpoint Music Festival, National Mall Earth Day Festival, and Taste of Chicago. Diaz is endorsed by Godin Guitars and has put out four acoustic albums and three produced singles, including award-winning songs and songs for various causes. This year at Berklee, she arranged and performed one of her songs with a band at the Contemporary Writing and Production Department Showcase, performed in the Guitar Department Songwriter Showcase and the Joni Mitchell Ensemble show, and played her own solo shows at venues and festivals around New England. In the fall, she starts her freshman year at Harvard along with continuing her studies in guitar and contemporary writing and production at Berklee.
