Jessie Cox brought Art Note Project to life to give audiences a more complete and rounded experience of his music, incorporating poetry, costumes, electronic sounds, and a small bit of acting.
The Art Note Project is interested in creating memorable and unique experiences through music. Due to the nature of improvisation, every show presented is different, while keeping a consistent repertoire for returning audiences. The music, which Cox describes as "cosmic jazz and jazz concrete instrumental," lies between the genres of contemporary concert music, jazz, electronic music, plus many more, and draws inspiration from composers such as the AACM, William Parker, Matthew Shipp, Helmut Lachenmann, Karlheinz Stockhausen, among others.
