This year’s Jazz at the Fort concert features Berklee alumnus Jaleel Shaw.
Alto and soprano saxophonist Jaleel Shaw is presently a member of the Roy Haynes Quartet, Tom Harrell’s “Colors of a Dream” and the Mingus Big Band. He has also performed with Christian McBride, Jason Moran, Stefon Harris, Roy Hargrove, Chick Corea, Dave Holland and Jimmy Cobb, among others. In March of 2013, Jaleel released an album of original compositions titled The Soundtrack of Things to Come from his label Changu Records. The album features a working quartet and has been well received by the New York Times, New York City Jazz Record, and All About Jazz.
Jazz at the Fort is a free annual concert held in Roxbury's Fort Hill Neighborhood presented by Berklee College of Music and the City of Boston Parks and Recreation Department. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in the Media Arts Center at Roxbury Community College.
