Jason Palmer's Berklee Septet includes some of the college's finest student jazz players, who have engaged in a six-month-long, working mentorship with trumpeter and composer Palmer, assistant professor of ensembles and brass at Berklee.  A Steeplechase Records recording artist, and a veteran of the bands of Grace Kelly B.M. '11, Kurt Rosenwinkel '90, Ravi Coltrane, Mark Turner B.M. '90 and Matana Roberts, Palmer has been cited by DownBeat (which has awarded four stars to multiple Palmer albums) as one of the "top 25 trumpeters of the future."

The band will be performing compositions by Palmer and bandmembers Zach Auslander (guitar), Domi Degalle (piano), and Emery Mesich (alto saxophone). The band also includes Benjamin Bass (guitar), Stefano Battaglia (bass), and Alex Weinstein (drums).

The group will also be performing at the Newport Jazz Festival on August 5.
