Berklee Performance Center
136 Massachusetts Avenue

Inna Dudukina is a refined jazz vocalist with a special gift for finding the meaning of lyrics. She treats her songs as internal monologues, and her jazz ensemble has a unique approach to the music. It includes innovative and sophisticated arrangements, in which the well-known tunes sometimes have tricky extensions of form, unexpected changes of style and meter, or juxtapositions of other songs. The program will include the music of Cole Porter, Paul Simon, Burt Bacharach, Carl Fisher, Jay Gorney, Antônio Carlos Jobim, and others.

Olga Karaseva and her chamber ensemble Cloud Ludum will present a program of original compositions and arrangements in a third-stream idiom. This being the Karaseva's last recital at Berklee, this show will feature her best works. Compositions will explore symbiosis of classical music and contemporary jazz, written and free improvised material, and extended acoustic and electronic sound techniques. Arrangements will include works by Leo Brower, Bela Bartok, Karlheinz Stockhausen, and Arvo Part.

Karaseva is going to record her debut album with Cloud Ludum ensemble in spring 2013 and this concert is going to feature music from the upcoming release. Cloud Ludum ensemble was founded by Karaseva and Anastasiya Dumma in 2010 and has evolved to a very strong group of co-minded musicians dedicated to experimentation within contemporary jazz, third-stream, and free improvisation. The group consists of the finest Berklee, NEC, and BoCo students and alumni.
