MI.MU Gloves: Demonstration with Imogen Heap
Artist in residence Imogen Heap will demonstrate MI.MU Gloves, the wireless, sensor-enabled wearable controller gloves she designed for creating and performing music through movement and gesture. In her search for a better relationship between the music software and hardware that form her musical toolbox, Heap stumbled across the idea of making music using a pair of musical gloves. Current MI.MU users include Kris Halpin, Chagall, and Ariana Grande.
Heap will explain the history and development of the gloves, demonstrate how she uses them live, and share the backend of the technology, including how she integrates Ableton Live. The demonstration will include a performance by Heap using her MI.MU Gloves.
This demonstration is part of Heap’s three-day artist residency with Berklee, which features several events.
