The Liberal Arts Department at Berklee College of Music presents Harmonium: Piano of Indian Music Master Class and Clinic, presented by Kedar Naphade on harmonium and accompanied by Amit Kavthekar on tabla.

Naphade is an accomplished and acclaimed harmonium artist, as well as a student of the late maestro Tulsidas Borkar. He comes from a family of musicians, receiving initial training in Hindustani classical music from his grandfather. Naphade is one of today’s leading exponents of Indian classical music on the harmonium. A concert harmonium soloist, accompanist, and educator, he specializes in Indian classical, semi-classical, and folk music. He has accompanied several maestros, and has performed as a soloist in Europe, the United States, and India.

Kavthekar is a sought-after tabla player, both as a soloist and accompanist. He has performed at several prestigious venues and has accompanied several famous artists.

This event, sponsored by the Office of Faculty Development, LearnQuest Academy, and the Liberal Arts Department, is a collaboration with LearnQuest Academy and is part of the 2019 LearnQuest Music Conference.
