Freddie Bryant, an associate professor of guitar at Berklee College of Music, is in demand in the New York City jazz and Brazilian community, where he has worked with Eliane Elias, Tom Harrell, and many others.

Bryant, who earned a master’s degree in classical guitar from the Yale School of Music, was a member of Ben Riley’s Monk Legacy Septet and the Mingus Orchestra, and leads his own group, Kaleidoscope.

His new CD, Monk Restrung, celebrates the music of the legendary Thelonious Monk.

He has toured 54 countries and collaborated with musicians from a variety of backgrounds, including Indian classical musicians, African singers, oud players, traditional Arab groups, and klezmer bands. An impassioned educator, he has taught jazz to all ages around the world.
