The Freddie Bryant and Kaleidoscope Trio features Bryant on electric, nylon, and 12-string guitars; Gregory Ryan on bass; and Berklee College of Music percussion professor Mark Walker on drums. The trio will be joined by saxophone legend Bill Pierce, who chaired the Woodwind Department at the college for decades, has performed with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Tony Williams, and a host of jazz luminaries.

Bryant, a professor in the Guitar Department, has performed in 54 countries. He creates music, rooted in the straight-ahead, U.S. tradition, that draws inspiration from around the world. He has worked with Eliane Elias, Tom Harrell, the Mingus Orchestra, and many others. Bryant is influenced by rhythms and styles from Brazil, Cuba, Spain, Africa, India, and the Middle East with an unmistakable foundation in blues, gospel, and bebop.

Bryant hopes this concert will give Guitar Sessions students and the audience a view into the endless options of jazz performance.
