"Homenaje a la Tradicion" is a project led by Chilean bass player and arranger Gerson Lazo-Quiroga based on the roots of Cuban music and its influence in jazz and world music. This concert will reflect a journey from the music of world-renowned Cuban composers and figures from the early '60s to today, such as Beny Moré and Irakere. Arranged in a modern Cuban jazz style are other tunes from the American Songbook such as Victor Young, Miles Davis, and Dexter Gordon: a tribute to the roots, legacy, and life of prodigious musicians that inspired the whole world.
